The Danteum is an unbuilt monument proposed by modernist architect and scholar of Dante, Giuseppe Terragni.
Although conceived as an allegory of the Divine Comedy, rather than illustrating the narrative, Terragni focuses on the text’s form and rhyme structure, translating them into the language of carefully proportioned spaces and unadorned surfaces typical of Italian Rationalism. Lines, geometry, patterns; elements crucial to Rationalism in the 1920s and the framework for all design.
Today however, what we can create using that framework is constantly evolving.
In 2022 and for the first time, Secolo was on show at Salone del Mobile, an important milestone in our journey. As ever, focusing on quality materials, Italian manufacturing and distinctive designs; Secolo presented some never before seen pieces as well as some favourites from previous collections.
